The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in collaboration with the Government of Mozambique (GoM) and private sector partners, is implementing a project funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) named “Towards Sustainable Energy for all in Mozambique” - TSE4ALLM.
The project contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 9 and 7, since: (i) it encourages the adoption of clean technologies, such as solar photovoltaic and technologies to transform waste into energy for small and medium farmers and for the agri-food industries; (ii) promotes the creation of favorable policies and regulatory environment; (iii) promotes training activities supporting the creation of a RE market in rural areas; (iv) promotes the demonstration and expansion of the use of renewable energy technologies.
The project will have a positive impact on the environment due to the reduction in the consumption of fossil fuels (especially diesel) in generators and the consequent reduction of greenhouse gases, as well as the reduction of forest degradation and soil and water pollution.
